He didn't call them. He called you!

There will be times when family, friends, or even fellow believers don’t see what God is doing in your life. Their doubts may make you question yourself. You may even feel like stepping back and saying, “Lord, maybe I should just quit.”

There are moments in life when you feel hurt and overwhelmed - especially when it comes from people you love and expect to understand you.

Recently, I found myself reflecting on a moment in Scripture when Jesus returned to Nazareth, His own hometown, and was met not with honor, but with skepticism.

He said:

“A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.”
Matthew 13:57 (NLT)

I have learned that when God places a call on your life, the people closest to you may not always recognize it.

Sometimes they question it.
Sometimes they misunderstand it.
Sometimes their well-intentioned words hurt more than they realize.

And that can be one of the hardest experiences to walk through - feeling unseen or unsupported by those you thought would celebrate the journey with you.

What comforts me is how Jesus responded.

He didn’t argue.
He didn’t abandon His mission.
He didn’t let rejection redirect Him.

He stayed focused.

He understood something we must also remember:
The call wasn’t about Him; It was about obedience to the Father and the greater purpose ahead.

There will be times when family, friends, or even fellow believers don’t see what God is doing in your life. Their doubts may make you question yourself. You may even feel like stepping back and saying, “Lord, maybe I should just quit.”

But hold on to this truth:

God does not always call the equipped, but He always equips the called.

If He has called you, He will sustain you.
If He has started the work, He will complete it.

Our task is not to seek approval; It is to remain faithful.

As Paul wrote:

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:14

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8

The goal is to stay the course until the end, trusting that God sees, God knows, and God rewards faithfulness.

Stay encouraged.
Stay prayerful.
Stay grounded in what God has spoken to you.

Sometimes the greater the calling, the greater the refining, but His grace is always sufficient for the journey.
