My kids don’t have the largest room in the world. As a matter of fact, both kids will be sharing a room once the little prince is ready to move out of our bedroom. Right now, he has a little nook in our room that suits him just fine.
When we first moved into our space, I was big on interior design and planned out our space room by room. Then, the kids came along and now I do what I can when I can. For the past two weeks, I’ve been experimenting with ways to organize our space – mostly on Pinterest until I can find the time to go shopping.
One of my problem areas is in the kids’ room.
What can I do with the gazillion books my daughter has collected over the years?
Although I have sorted and neatly placed them in her cube organizer, they always end up everywhere. I needed a solution and I needed one fast. I decided to go to Ikea for some inspiration.
I remember mentioning to a close friend that I needed more options for organizing the children’s room and she mentions to build up.
Use the walls! – she said.
Well, I took her advice and found a way to use the walls to my advantage. Ikea had these awesome Flisat bookshelves for just $12.99 each (happy dance 💃🏾).
Hubby drilled them up for me and I moved her books to their new home. I bought 5 of the shelves and I am still shocked at how many books I was able to squeeze into each shelf. I absolutely love how they turned out. Next, I’ll be adding some decor options to make it pop. Stay Tuned!
Now my babies have a new fun reading nook that we can easily keep clean and organized.
